Pentaprism
- Right angle deflection
- Correct image
- Beam deviation 90
Pentaprisms are five-sided prisms that deflect the beam by 90° and produce a side-to-side image. Minor movements of the prism do not affect the right angle at which the rays are reflected. This makes a pentaprism the ideal optical component for defining a right angle in an optical system. These prisms are manufactured from various optical glasses - for applications in the visible spectrum - true to scale.
